The Kansas City Public Works Department is advising residents that although city offices will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day, curbside trash, recycling and bulky collections will still take place July 3. The city’s 311 Action Center will be open from 8 a.m. to noon July 3 and 4.

The city’s recycling drop-off centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 3, but will be closed Saturday, July 4. The city’s leaves and brush drop-off centers will operate with an abbreviated schedule from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 4.

The week of Monday, July 6, to Friday, July 10, is a “no tag” period for trash collection. During this period, residents may set out more than two bags of trash without tags.

For more information, call 311 or visit www.kcmo.org/trash.
